High Power IGBT Modules and Drive Technology
Release time:
2021-01-28
Power electronics technology plays an irreplaceable role in today's industrial fields that urgently need energy saving and consumption reduction; IGBT has increasingly become the preferred power switching device in various main circuits for energy conversion and management applications in power electronics technology, such as inverters and high-power switch power supplies. Therefore, how to safely and reliably drive IGBT operation has become an issue that more and more design engineers need to solve.
In various main circuits composed of IGBT, the high-power IGBT drive protection circuit serves as the terminal interface for weak current controlling strong current. Due to its importance, this circuit can be regarded as a relatively independent "subsystem" for research, development, and design.
The high-power IGBT drive protection circuit has developed alongside the advancement of IGBT technology. Currently, there are many mature specialized products for high-power IGBT drive protection circuits on the market, making them the first choice for most design engineers. Many engineers have also developed various specialized high-power IGBT drive protection circuits based on the specific requirements of their circuits. This article classifies these high-power IGBT drive protection circuits and elaborates on some functions that the circuit needs to achieve, and finally looks forward to the development of this circuit. Additionally, the high-power IGBT drive protection circuits mentioned in this article refer to those applied in situations where the DC bus voltage ranges from 650V to 1000V and the output current's RMS value ranges from 100A to 600A.
